Katie is an Liscensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Katie has been practicing psychotherapy with adults and children since 2007. She completed both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Professional Counseling at Georgia State University. Since completing her degrees, Katie has received extensive post-graduate education in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD, and the Dissociative Disorders including Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). In addition to her work with trauma healing and recovery, Katie has worked extensively with clients struggling with relationship issues and challenges with emotional regulation. Katie is a member of the Valor Institute and the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, and has been privileged to train under and consult with some of the leading trauma therapists in the Atlanta area and the country. Katie has experience providing individual counseling for adults, adolescents, and children, as well as family and couple's counseling. In addition, Katie is trained in the facilitation of DBT skills training, therapeutic play and filial therapy sessions, TF-CBT, and is certified to teach the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) curriculum for parent education. Katie recognizes that trauma is an incredible teacher. It teaches that the world is not a safe place, people can't be trusted, and we must protect ourselves at all costs. Survivors of abuse, neglect, crime, war, natural disasters, unhealthy attachments, and countless other circumstances often find themselves confused, lonely, and unhappy with life. Many have difficulty forming healthy and stable relationships, react to situations and experiences in ways that are confusing and unpredictable, wrestle with overwhelming anger, fear, and anxiety, feel disconnected from themselves and others, and believe that somehow they just don't belong. People who have been through trauma are not “crazy,” and there is nothing inherently wrong with them. Post-traumatic reactions are common, well understood by mental health professionals, and are treatable. Katie's goal as a therapist is to walk beside her clients on their journey toward healing. She believes strongly that YOU are the expert on you, and therefore her role is not to give you advice, tell you what's wrong with you, or to make you change things you're not ready to change. It is her hope to bring compassion, experience, and understanding to aid you along your journey. She believes that, by sifting through layers of traumas and other painful life experiences, she can help you rediscover your core, authentic self and journey toward true peace and joy, healed relationships, and the creation of your very best life.

Ashley E. Robinson, M.Ed., NCC, LAPC
Ashley, a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, earned a Master's of Education in Professional Counseling in 2002. Ashley has extensive experience counseling adolescents, teens, and young adults.
Ashley works with pre-adolescents and teens struggling with a number of issues such as academic underachievement, peer conflict, bullying, body image, depression, anxiety, and anger. Ashley has helped hundreds of teens feel comfortable in the counseling setting by providing a safe environment filled with non-judgment and compassion, as well as gentle confrontation and encouragement. As deeper emotional issues are identified, processed, and healed, the maladaptive symptoms are replaced with self-respect, confidence, and direction, which lead to more productive behaviors and healthier relationships in the home and at school.
Ashley also has a passion for helping young adults struggling to combat their own critical internal voices, which often give rise to feelings of self-doubt, fear, loneliness, and “not enoughness.” Ashley works with her clients to become aware of thoughts and beliefs which are no longer serving their highest purpose, and develop the courage to look inward, rather than to others, for a sense of validation and approval.
Ashley utilizes an eclectic, yet individualized therapeutic approach when working with each client. Through self-awareness and mindfulness training, as well as compassion and gentle confrontation, Ashley encourages and guides her clients to dig within to find the hidden treasures and gifts that lay dormant. Ashley's goal in counseling is to lift each client to a state of joy, confidence, independence, purpose, and unconditional love for THE SELF. [Back to Top]
