Shavontia Cochran is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified Positive Discipline Educator for parents, and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia Southern University, and a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University.
At TRU, Shavontia provides individual and group counseling for the residents of Buckhead, and the greater Atlanta area. Shavontia works with adults, children, and parents. She has extensive experience working with adults dealing with issues ranging from substance abuse and recovery, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. Shavontia also works with clients dealing with attachment issues, interpersonal issues, as well as childhood trauma. Shavontia is passionate about building the therapeutic relationship with clients and fostering an environment of support and collaboration. She firmly believes that you are your own expert of your life experiences. Shavontia’s therapeutic orientation strongly focuses on encouraging a stronger sense of self-awareness and acceptance. Shavontia works under the clinical supervision of Trudy Post Sprunk, LPC, LMFT, RPT-S.
